July 5 Weekly Update
Dear Parishioners,
In observance of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the parish office will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 3 - 5. It will reopen on Monday, July 6 at 9:00AM.
One more week is needed to complete the repairs on the church ceiling. To accommodate the repair work our daily Masses next week will be held in the parish hall. For a full explanation of the added safety precautions please watch this brief video from Fr. Tom CEILING
Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) registration is open. We warmly invite you to join us as we continue forming young hearts in the faith and love of Christ. The early bird discount expires Monday, July 6. Please see Fr. Tom’s explanatory video HERE
Starting this saturday, we are changing confession times. Confessions will start at 3:30 PM. The Vigil Mass is still at the same time 4:30 PM. Please take a moment to watch Fr. Tom’s informative message on the ONE PRIEST video
If you know someone age 16 or older who has not yet been baptized or still needs to complete the Sacraments of Initiation, we warmly invite them to join our Adult Faith Formation (OCIA) program. Registration for this year’s program is now open in the parish office. We would be honored to accompany them on their journey of faith as they prepare to receive these beautiful sacraments.
As part of the culmination of the Eucharistic Pilgrimage in Philadelphia, on Sunday, July 5, Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Pérez at the Cathedral and Shrine of St. Katharine Drexel with a 2-mile Eucharistic procession to the St. John Neuman Shrine following the Mass. Con motivo de la conmemoración del 250.º aniversario de la Declaración de Independencia de los Estados Unidos de América, la oficina parroquial permanecerá cerrada los días viernes 3, sábado 4 y domingo 5 de julio. Reabrirá el lunes 6 de julio a las 9:00 a. m.
Se necesita una semana más para completar las reparaciones del techo de la iglesia. Para facilitar los trabajos de reparación, nuestras misas diarias de la próxima semana se celebrarán en el salón parroquial. Si usted conoce a una persona mayor de 16 años que necesite bautizarse o completar sus sacramentos, favor pasar a la rectoría para inscribirse a las clases de catecismo para los adultos. Sería un honor para nosotros acompañarlos en su camino de fe mientras se preparan para recibir estos hermosos sacramentos.
Como culminación de la Peregrinación Eucarística en Filadelfia, el próximo 5 de julio, el Arzobispo Pérez celebrará la Santa Misa en la Catedral Basílica y Santuario de Santa Katharine Drexel. Al concluir la Eucaristía, los fieles están invitados a participar en una procesión eucarística de dos millas hasta el Santuario de San Juan Neumann.
El Obispo Christopher Cooke nos anima de manera especial, como parte de la comunidad hispana, a ser parte de este momento histórico de fe y testimonio público, como una oportunidad para renovar nuestro amor por la Eucaristía y continuar fortaleciendo el espíritu de renovación eucarística en nuestra ciudad.
