Special Message from Fr. Anthony Albanese
Dear St. Laurence Parish,
As many of you know by now, I will be moving on to another assignment beginning July 1. I will be going to Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford, PA, Montgomery County as a theology teacher and chaplain. To be honest, I have a mixed bag of emotions. On one hand, I am very sad and distraught to leave all of you behind. I’ve had an incredible three years here serving our Lord and serving all of you. I’ve learned and grown so much as a priest and as a person, and I have the parishioners, the staff, and Fr. Tom to thank for that. Fr. Tom has been a great mentor and friend, and I appreciate all he has done for me. On the other hand, I am excited for what is to come in my journey as I return to my roots as a teacher. You may know that I taught Spanish for six years prior to seminary, so teaching is in my blood.
In my prayer, Jesus has revealed to me that the most important thing for me is to be able to continue to pray for all of you and for my future assignments and to be able to celebrate the Mass every day. What I do, that is, my ministry, is really secondary, and it matters more my connection with Christ as a missionary disciple and to be able to pray for and allow God to bless others through me. That is central to me.
I have no doubt that the Holy Spirit, Our Lady, and our patron St. Laurence will continue to guide the growing parish of St Laurence. I know Fr. Tom will continue doing great things for the parish as well.
Please know of my prayers for all of you and your intentions, and please pray for me as I continue on. I will never forget St. Laurence. You will be a part of me forever, and as I said, you have made me a better priest and person. Praise God!

Querida Parroquia de San Lorenzo:
Como muchos de ustedes ya saben, a partir del 1 de julio asumiré una nueva asignación. Me dirigiré a la Escuela Secundaria Papa Juan Pablo II, en Royersford, PA, condado de Montgomery, para desempeñarme como profesor de teología y capellán. Para ser honesto, experimento una mezcla de emociones. Por un lado, me siento muy triste y afligido por tener que dejarlos a todos ustedes. He vivido tres años increíbles aquí, sirviendo a nuestro Señor y sirviéndoles a todos ustedes. He aprendido y crecido muchísimo, tanto como sacerdote como persona, y por ello debo dar las gracias a los feligreses, al personal y al Padre Tom. El Padre Tom ha sido un gran mentor y amigo, y agradezco todo lo que ha hecho por mí. Por otro lado, me entusiasma lo que me espera al regresar a mis raíces como educador. Quizás sepan que enseñé español durante seis años antes de ingresar al seminario; por lo tanto, la enseñanza corre por mis venas.
En mi oración, Jesús me ha revelado que lo más importante para mí es poder seguir rezando por todos ustedes y por mis futuras asignaciones, así como poder celebrar la Santa Misa cada día. Lo que hago —es decir, mi ministerio— es, en realidad, algo secundario; lo que verdaderamente importa es mi conexión con Cristo como discípulo misionero, y la capacidad de rezar por los demás y permitir que Dios los bendiga a través de mí. Eso es lo fundamental para mí.
No tengo duda alguna de que el Espíritu Santo, Nuestra Señora y nuestro patrono, San Lorenzo, seguirán guiando esta floreciente Parroquia de San Lorenzo. Sé también que el Padre Tom continuará realizando grandes obras en beneficio de esta parroquia.
Tengan la certeza de que rezo por todos ustedes y por sus intenciones; asimismo, les ruego que recen por mí mientras continúo mi camino. Jamás olvidaré a San Lorenzo. Ustedes formarán parte de mí para siempre y, tal como he dicho, me han ayudado a ser un mejor sacerdote y persona. ¡Alabado sea Dios!
