May 31 Weekly Update
Dear Parishioners,
Registration for our Religious Education Program is now open for all children and families. We warmly invite you to join us as we continue forming young hearts in the faith and love of Christ.
Please join us beginning June 3rd as we pray together in preparation for the consecration of our parish to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. From June 3rd through June 11th, we invite everyone to pray the novena either at home or together with us after the daily Masses. Prayer cards are available at the entrances of the church.
Friday June 12, after the morning Mass, we will host a period of Eucharistic adoration and then a formal consecration of our parish to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in connection with the US Bishops’ consecration of the USA to the Sacred Heart of Jesus the day before. May this be a beautiful moment of grace and renewal for our parish.
Father’s Day cards are now available. Please feel free to take as many as you need. If you wish, you may include a donation and return the envelopes with the names of the fathers you would like remembered in prayer. These names will be placed upon the altar, and on Father’s Day we will offer special prayers for all fathers, living and deceased.
Jennifer Rose, our Senior Advocate, will be sharing information regarding PRODUCE and STEPS. We encourage anyone interested to learn more about these helpful resources and opportunities and opportunities.
Archbishop Nelson Pérez has warmly welcomed Pope Leo XIV’s first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas (“Magnificent Humanity”), with profound gratitude, and encourages all people to read it prayerfully and reflect on its important message.
DELCO YACS (Delaware County Young Adults) will host a BBQ at Saint Bernadette Parish on Saturday, June 13th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Please see the flyer for additional information:: DELCO YACS

Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary is offering the Philadelphia Catholic Scholars Program. All young men in high school—incoming juniors through graduating seniors—are eligible to participate in this program, which runs from Monday morning, July 6, 2026 through Thursday afternoon, July 16, 2026. Estimados feligreses:
Las inscripciones para nuestro Programa de Educación Religiosa ya están abiertas para todos los niños. Invitamos cordialmente a las familias a formar parte de este importante camino de fe y crecimiento espiritual.
También les invitamos a unirse a nosotros, a partir del 3 de junio, para rezar juntos una novena en preparación para la consagración de nuestra parroquia al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. Del 3 al 11 de junio, podrán rezar la novena en sus hogares o acompañarnos después de las Misas diarias. Las tarjetas con la oración estarán disponibles en las entradas de la iglesia.
El viernes 12 de junio, a las 7PM, tendremos un tiempo de Adoración Eucarística, seguido de la consagración formal de nuestra parroquia al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, uniéndonos espiritualmente a la consagración de los Estados Unidos que realizarán los Obispos del país el día anterior. Que este sea para todos un momento especial de gracia, renovación y encuentro con el amor misericordioso de Cristo.
Las tarjetas para el Día del Padre ya están disponibles. Pueden tomar tantas como necesiten. Si lo desean, pueden incluir una donación y devolver los sobres con los nombres de los padres que quisieran encomendar en nuestras oraciones. Estos nombres serán colocados sobre el altar y, en el Día del Padre, ofreceremos oraciones especiales por todos los padres, vivos y difuntos.
Marquen sus calendarios y acompáñennos el 12 de junio para consagrar con alegría nuestra parroquia al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. Que podamos poner toda nuestra familia parroquial bajo el cuidado amoroso y misericordioso del Corazón de Cristo.
El arzobispo Nelson Pérez acoge con entusiasmo la primera encíclica del papa León XIV, Magnifica Humanitas (Magnífica Humanidad), y anima a todos los fieles a leerla con atención y a reflexionar sobre su mensaje lleno de esperanza y dignidad humana.
El Seminario San Carlos Borromeo ofrece el Programa Catholic Scholar (Eruditos Católicos de Filadelfia). Todos los jóvenes varones que cursan la escuela secundaria —desde quienes comienzan el tercer año hasta los que están próximos a graduarse— son elegibles para participar en este programa, que se llevará a cabo desde la mañana del lunes 6 de julio de 2026 hasta la tarde del jueves 16 de julio de 2026.
