May 24 Weekly Update

Dear Parishioners,

REMEMBER: This Sunday, May 24, our Sunday Mass schedule will change for the Summer. Sunday Masses will be: 7:30 AM in English, 9:00 AM in Spanish and 11:30 AM in English. During the summer, we will livestream the 11:30 AM Mass only. Saturday evening Masses will remain the same: 4:30 PM Vigil in English and 7:00 PM in Spanish.

This Sunday Fr. Anthony will hear confessions at 10:30 AM.

Registration for our Religious Education Program is now open for everybody.

In observance of Memorial Day, our rectory office will be closed Saturday through Monday. We will reopen on Tuesday, May 26 at 9:00 AM.

As we remember with gratitude the brave men and women of the armed forces who gave their lives in service to our country, we invite our parish family to keep them and their loved ones in our prayers. May the Lord grant eternal rest to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, comfort to their families, and peace to our nation. Let us also pray for all those who are currently serving in the military, that God may protect them, strengthen them, and bring them home safely. May Mary, Queen of Peace, watch over all who serve with courage and dedication, especially those from our parish family.

Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary is offering the Philadelphia Catholic Scholars Program. All young men in high school—incoming juniors through graduating seniors—are eligible to participate in this program that runs from Monday morning, July 6, 2026 through Thursday afternoon, July 16, 2026. Father’s Day cards are now available. Please feel free to take as many as you need. If you wish, you may include a donation and return the envelopes with the names of the fathers you would like us to remember in prayer. These names will be placed on the altar, and on Father’s Day, we will offer prayers for all fathers—both living and deceased.

Noticias de la Semana - 24 de mayo

Estimados feligreses:

RECUERDEN: A partir de este domingo, 24 de mayo, nuestro horario de Misas dominicales cambiará por la temporada de verano. Los sábados se mantienen igual: 4:30 PM (Vigilia) y 7:00 PM (en español). Las Misas dominicales serán: 7:30 AM (en inglés), 9:00 AM (en español) y 11:30 AM (en inglés). Durante el verano, transmitiremos en vivo únicamente la Misa de las 11:30 AM en inglés. Las misas de la tarde del sábado permanecerán igual: 4:30 PM (de vigilia) en inglés y 7:00 PM en español.

Este domingo, el Padre Anthony oirá confesiones a las 10:30 AM.

Durante el mes de mayo, la Legión de María invita a todos los niños y sus familias a rezar el Santo Rosario en la iglesia a las 5:00 PM, de lunes a viernes. ¡Los esperamos!

Las inscripciones para nuestro Programa de Educación Religiosa están abiertas para todos los niños.

Con motivo del Día de los Caídos (Memorial Day), la oficina de la rectoría permanecerá cerrada desde el sábado hasta el lunes. Reabriremos el martes 26 de mayo a las 9:00 AM.

Al recordar con gratitud a los valientes hombres y mujeres de las fuerzas armadas que entregaron sus vidas al servicio de nuestra patria, invitamos a nuestra familia parroquial a tenerlos a ellos y a sus seres queridos presentes en nuestras oraciones. Que el Señor conceda el descanso eterno a quienes realizaron el sacrificio supremo, consuelo a sus familias y paz a nuestra nación. Oremos también por todos aquellos que actualmente prestan servicio en las fuerzas armadas, para que Dios los proteja, los fortalezca y los traiga de regreso a casa sanos y salvos. Que María, Reina de la Paz, vele por todos aquellos que sirven con valentía y dedicación, especialmente por los miembros de nuestra familia parroquial.

El Seminario San Carlos Borromeo ofrece el Programa de Catholic Scholar (Eruditos Católicos de Filadelfia). Todos los jóvenes varones que cursan la escuela secundaria —desde los que inician el tercer año hasta los que están por graduarse— son elegibles para participar en este programa, el cual se llevará a cabo desde la mañana del lunes 6 de julio de 2026 hasta la tarde del jueves 16 de julio de 2026. ¡La fecha límite para enviar las solicitudes es el 1 de junio de 2026! Ya están disponibles las tarjetas para el Día del Padre. Puede tomar tantas como necesite. Si lo desea, puede incluir una donación y devolver los sobres con los nombres de los padres que le gustaría que recordáramos en nuestras oraciones. Estos nombres se colocarán en el altar y, en el Día del Padre, ofreceremos oraciones por todos los padres, tanto vivos como difuntos.

Marquen sus calendarios y acompáñennos el 12 de junio, para consagrar con alegría nuestra parroquia al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. Que este sea un hermoso momento de gracia, renovación y amor más profundo, al poner a nuestra familia parroquial bajo el compasivo y misericordioso Corazón de Cristo.
